Chapter 31: Flow of Words

Darryl and Corinne reminisce in the nursery about the day she and Caroline moved into this house.

Unfortunately, they didn't have much time left. Grim comes for Corinne the next afternoon. She leaves behind an unfinished harvester.

Darryl is desolate without Corinne. He looks back on their lives, so much of it spent working on their projects. They didn't spend as much time together as they should have. Darryl can't get back the lost time with his wife, but he vows to spend the remaining time he has with his family.

It's never too early to instill a love of reading.

Rex has finally broke through his writer's block and is working on his first real novel, a sci fi piece called Missing Voyage.

There are moments of frustration, sure, but the words are flowing they way they did before his long bout of being unable to write.

Tamsin comes home from a night of ghost hunting to be greeted by her grandfather's ghost. "You're the talk of the underworld," he tells her proudly, "You've helped so many find their way."

Late at night, long after everyone is asleep, Meadow returns to her childhood home and wanders the yard. Her sister and Darius are long gone, and their son is an elder, recently widowed. Meadow barely his daughter and her child. But they are her family, so she keeps watch over them, from a safe distance.

Tamsin is pregnant with their second child.

Rex couldn't be happier. He's got a great family, he's writing again and his museum keeps growing with his finds.

Autumn is pleased to see her granddaughter's growing belly.

Darryl is also thrilled to have another grandchild on the way, though he wishes Corinne were here with them.

Tamsin and Rex bring home a baby girl, named Dulce.

Though she's just given birth, City Hall insists Tamsin come out and be feted yet again for her work in cleaning out the lost and wandering spirits of the town. The mayor seems to have grown some hair, or gotten a wig, since the last ceremony in her honor. Or maybe it isn't the same mayor. In fact, Tamsin was pretty sure Hari Ramaswami was the mayor of Riverblossom Hills. She doesn't pay close attention to local politics, but she doesn't remember any elections recently.

With a new daughter born and his first real novel published, Rex celebrates with new ink, another dragon motif on his right arm.

Sheridan has a birthday.

And becomes a child.

For Rex and Tamsin, life is good.

Challenge Notes:
Corinne did not make it to level 10 in the inventor career. And I feel bad about pushing for it, since she spent so much of her life building stuff to sell, when we didn't need the money. The family is ridiculously wealthy, with over 400k in the family funds.
Tamsin and Rex have had their second required child, and awesome is completed. So all that's left is for Rex to keep getting more tattoos.
He needs two more points each in Athletic and Logic for his LTW. Happily, he got the writing opportunity to donate 3 books to City Hall, which gives him leave to write three books. He's at level 7 of the writing skill now.
Sheridan's traits are Athletic, Brave and Rebellious.
I rolled random traits for Dulce, Excitable is one and I forget the second.

  1. Sheridan is adorable. =)

Poor Corinne. =( I managed to get Yasu's trophy, but it was a huge pain. She had the advantage of working on it since childhood and accumulating rewards such as steel bladder and hardly hungry, as well, but I still felt bad not allowing her to have a life.

  2. I'm kind of a hard boss, too, when it comes to skills and stuff with my sims. I always feel if they're not working on something, time is being wasted. Which leaves them with no social life and very low fun bars... I feel bad, too.

It's great to see Meadow, even if she doesn't interact with the family. How odd it must feel that her whole family is gone, but she's still there.

  3. Tis the life of being a vampire, Redhead Creations. :P

I LOVE the name Dulce. It's quite common in my family, and one of the few spanish or latin names I'm not sick of. xD It's beautiful, can't wait to see how she grows up.

  4. I'm not usually such a hard task master on my Sims, but I wanted that inventor trophy. But it would have been easier if it was my heir, not an older spouse. Corinne would have had to have 13k more in inventions, and she just didn't have the time. LOL, she and Darryl worked so hard, they hardly even appear in the legacy. After they married it was all work, no play.

I like the name Dulce, too, Cece. I'll be updating again this weekend so you'll see her growing up soon. She looks mostly like her father, but with her mother's hair.
